Daughters of the American Revolution to meet
The Samuel King Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will 1 p.m. Jan. 15 at the First Presbyterian Church located at 1001 S. Rankin. Cory Shipman, a registered pharmacist, will present the program on “Your Medications and Your Health.” For our members who work during the day, there will also be an evening meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at Copper Lake Retirement Center. Free hunter education instructor workshop
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has announced the dates for its 2009 hunter education workshops to be held free of charge at H&H; Gun Range Shooting Sports Outlet in Oklahoma City. Volunteer instructors teach and assist in numerous classes throughout the state each year, making hunter education more readily available for more Oklahomans. Volunteers help set up and teach classes, assist other instructors and represent the Wildlife Department and sportsmen of the state.

OU Medical Edmond greets 100th baby
Sometimes it seems as if history repeats itself.
My Birth Center at OU Medical Center Edmond delivered its 100th baby at 7:42 a.m. Friday, 44 years after the hospital’s first 100th baby was born in 1968. My Birth Center opened in September, becoming the first birth place available in Edmond since 2005. - 2-11 Police & fire runs

State Secretary of Education Phyllis Hudecki announced Thursday Oklahoma is one of 10 states chosen to receive a waiver from No Child Left Behind requirements.

Logan Co. Democrats to meet Monday
The Logan County Democratic Committee will have its monthly meeting on Monday.
The main order of business will be Get Out the Vote for the April 3 state Senate race. Precinct officers are encouraged to attend. In addition to business and planning items, the group will celebrate Logan County Democrats with birthdays in February. -
