Synagogue to host ‘Jewish Living Made Beautiful’
“Jewish Living Made Beautiful,” which will explore the unique holiday celebrations that color Jewish Life, will be from 1-4 p.m. May 17 at Emanuel Synagogue.
Activities will include viewing beautifully set tables of the special days of the Jewish calendar, including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kipput, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim, Passover, Shavuot and, of course, Shabbat (the Sabbath). There will also be a mock Jewish wedding and Bat Mitzvah.
A “Jewish Café” will allow time for “the melodic sounds of Israeli music,” a cup of Jewish Java and traditional Jewish baked goods. Tickets for the event are available at $7 per person or $5 per person for groups of 10 or more.
The event is being held to educate the public, promote tolerance and respect of each other’s faiths and to raise funds.
The synagogue is located at 900 N.W. 47th St. in Oklahoma City. For information, call 528-2113.
