Guthrie citizens plan for bike ride
A group of Guthrie bicycle enthusiasts and concerned citizens have come together to plan a fundraising bike ride on May 16, with proceeds going toward the building of the new water treatment plant.
The Guthrie Clear Water Ride begins at 8 a.m., leaving downtown Guthrie for distances of 18, 32, 55 and 65 miles. The ride will take participants on a scenic journey through the beautiful countryside of Logan County, including the towns of Guthrie, Crescent, Marshall and Mulhall.
In addition to the distances mentioned above, a family bike ride (at no charge) will be offered as well. This is an opportunity for families to participate in a fun, relaxing ride through downtown Guthrie (about half a mile). The children won’t want to miss the special prizes at the end. Visit www.guthrieclearwaterride.com for registration and more information, or call Justin Fortney at 282-1780.
