EDMOND — Sandi Patty concert to benefit metro area ministry
Oklahoma City native and Grammy Award-winning Gospel singer Sandi Patty, along with some of her friends, will perform a concert to benefit White Fields, a home for abused and neglected boys, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Crossings Community Church.
Individuals joining Sandi include Miss America 2009 Katie Stam and Christian comedienne Anita Renfroe.
Patty is the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary music history, with 39 Dove Awards. She was inducted to Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and an Indiana Living Legend in 2007. Her discography includes “Songs For The Journey” (2008), “Duets” (2005), “Hymns of Faith, Songs of Inspiration” (2004) and “Take Hold of Christ” (2003).
“I am so honored to know the people who gave birth to White Fields, and equally honored to be doing this concert, which will help them financially reach out to these amazing young men,” Patty said. “The boys who feel the impact of White Fields are the same young men who are part of the future of our community, the very fabric of change in our world.”
Founded in 2000, White Fields, located in the Piedmont area, cares for abused and neglected boys age 8-18 who are in the permanent custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division.
White Fields’ mission is to provide a continuum model of care offering a long-term home for abused and neglected boys. The organization strives to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of these boys by giving them a long-term home, counseling and guidance.
White Fields provides residential cottages for the boys as well as an on-campus school. The staples of our program include opportunities for recreation, learning, mentoring, community involvement and quality mental health treatment. Our primary goal is to provide these boys hope and stability to help them along their roads to recovery and healing.
For the benefit concert, $50 tickets include a meet-and-greet session with the artists. Also available are $25 floor tickets and $15 balcony seats.
