EDMOND — Edmond woman not seriously injured in fatality accident

An Edmond woman was not seriously injured in a Thanksgiving Day auto-pedestrian accident in Cleveland County, state troopers said.

The collision occurred Thursday afternoon on I-35 northbound north of Lindsay when a pedestrian was crossing the highway from the west side to the east side, troopers said. A motorist driving a 2007 Honda slowed down and struck the pedestrian, who was knocked into the path of another vehicle, and witnesses told troopers that vehicle continued onward, troopers said.

The pedestrian, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was transported to Norman Regional Hospital with head, trunk, internal and leg injuries, troopers said. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Jason E. Pyron, 31, of Diamondhead, Miss., driver of the 2007 Honda, was not transported to a hospital, troopers said. Neither were any of the passengers, including Andrea Males, 27, of Edmond.

No information was available on the second vehicle or its passengers. No information was available on any related pending charges.
