Oklahoma Christian University honored 166 graduates at its winter commencement ceremonies Dec. 14-15.
Oklahoma Christian presented degrees to 90 undergraduate candidates from 35 majors and to 76 master’s degree candidates from 14 areas of study. OC offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 60 undergraduate majors plus master’s degrees in business administration, engineering, divinity and ministry.
Six students were honored as University Fellows for completing the OC Honors Program with a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Eight students graduated summa cum laude, 11 students graduated magna cum laude and 16 students graduated cum laude.
Former Oklahoma Gov. George Nigh spoke at the undergraduate ceremony and Beam’s Industries president Mike Bosley spoke at the graduate ceremony. Bosley has an undergraduate mechanical engineering degree and a graduate business degree from Oklahoma Christian.
Oklahoma Christian graduates Mark Stansberry, chairman of the GTD Group, and Ray Vaughn, chairman of the Board of Oklahoma County Commissioners, also participated in the undergraduate ceremony.
Edmond graduates include: Brandon Jay Harden, MBA, General Business; Mohammad Rashid Irshad, MBA, Marketing; Benie Sandra Koukoui, MBA, Leadership and Organizational Development; Matthew Lee Linch, MBA, General Business; Jeremy Dwayne Pitcher, MBA, Finance; Kyle Wade Taylor, MSE, Mechanical Engineering; and Kaley Kristen White, BA, English.
Also graduating was Oklahoma City student Elizabeth Denae Gentry, BA, Communication Studies.
