The Edmond Planning Commission approved the final plat of the Heritage Village Addition this week. The vote was 4-0.
The City Council voted 5-0 in May to rezone the property from single family to planned unit development.
Turning Point Ministries LLC owns the property located on the west side of Fretz, just more than one-quarter mile north of West Edmond Road.
Turning Point Ministries provides a bridge between Habitat for Humanity and the community. This ministry has been instrumental in the development of Legacy Station, a 12-home community between the downtown post office and the railroad.
Detached homes on the 7.72 acres may range from 800 square feet to 1,600 square feet, said Bob Schiermeyer, city planner. Some of the 37 single-family lots are 40 feet by 90 feet, but most are 60 feet by 120 feet.
A 6-foot cedar fence will be provided along the frontage of Fretz. At the City Council meeting, Mayor Charles Lamb said the detention area will be a dry pond because a pilot channel will be provided to drain the water away.
The final plat conforms to the preliminary plat, said Ernie Isch, representing the developer.
This item will be considered by the City Council at an unspecified date, said Mark Hoose, planning commissioner.
