EDMOND — BNSF Railway Company workers replace ties along the track Tuesday afternoon near Danforth Road.

The work caused a number of crossings to be temporarily closed. In June 2012, the BNSF Railway Company announced plans to invest about $92 million on maintenance and rail capacity improvement projects in Oklahoma.

BNSF's track maintenance program in Oklahoma included 667 miles of track surfacing and undercutting work, the replacement of 29 miles of rail and about 196,000 ties. Information on when the work in Edmond would be finished was not available.
