OKLA. CITY —
For her dedication to the State of Oklahoma, her leadership during disasters and support of the American Red Cross, Gov. Mary Fallin will be the recipient of the 2013 Ruby Award for Humanitarian Service at Rendezvous for Red Cross.
The American Red Cross Oklahoma Chapter invites the community to attend its annual Rendezvous for Red Cross at 6:30 p.m. May 10 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The event features live entertainment, dancing and a live auction. Proceeds from the evening will help prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in the community.
Fallin supported Red Cross relief efforts after two major disasters struck the Sooner State. In April 2012, tornadoes ripped through Norman and Woodward causing widespread damage. In August of the same year, four separate wildfires burned through central and eastern Oklahoma resulting in the loss of many homes.
Chesapeake Energy is a presenting sponsor of Rendezvous for Red Cross with Farmers Insurance Group as the Mission Sponsor.
