Free family concert series set at Myriad Botanical Gardens

Special to The Sun

OKLA. CITY — A series of free concerts designed with families in mind has been planned at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Presented by Devon Energy, the concerts will take place at the Band Shell, and families are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs, spread out on the Great Lawn and enjoy the afternoon.

The Free Family Concert Series presented by Devon Energy kicks off with Spaghetti Eddie from 1-2 p.m. May 11. Spaghetti Eddie plays music for children that, as the band’s website explains, is non-toxic to adults.

The second concert will be from 1-2 p.m. May 18, also at the Band Shell and features Monty Harper, who has been entertaining young audiences for more than 20 years.

June 1 brings Spaghetti Eddie back to the Gardens, from 2-3 p.m. at the Band Shell. Concerts also are in the works for October and December, with dates and performers to be determined.
