The following construction projects will impact travel on major highways through the holiday weekend. Motorists should expect delays in these areas, weather permitting, and allow additional travel time. I-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between S.H. 11 and U.S. 177 in Kay County for resurfacing.
I-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between S.H. 19 near Pauls Valley and S.H. 29 near Wynnewood for resurfacing. Expect significant delays and consider an alternate route such as U.S. 77.
I-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction in Ardmore between U.S. 70 West (Waurika) and U.S. 70 East (Madill) for resurfacing. Also, the northbound I-35 on and off-ramps to U.S. 70 East are closed.
I-44 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Gore Blvd. and Rogers Lane for resurfacing. Additionally, all on and off-ramps at Cache Rd. are closed.
I-40 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between mm 25 and mm 23 near Sayre for resurfacing.
I-40 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between U.S. 64 near Warner and the Arkansas River (through Muskogee County) for resurfacing.
U.S. 69 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at U.S. 266 in Checotah for ramp reconstruction.
U.S. 69 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Durant and Calera as part of Durant Bypass construction.
Drivers can expect construction on eastbound and westbound I-40 in El Reno between mm 128 and 136 in Oklahoma City. Lanes are open, but the speed limit is reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.
All lanes of eastbound I-244 are closed in Tulsa on the west and north legs of the Inner Dispersal Loop until early 2011. Expect delays and plan for extra travel time in this area as traffic adjusts to these changes. The south and east legs of the IDL are the primary detour routes around the closures.
The following ramps are closed until further notice in Tulsa:
• Eastbound I-244 on- and off-ramps at Cincinnati/Detroit (north leg IDL)
• Northbound and southbound U.S. 75 ramps to eastbound I-244 (SW corner IDL)
• The southbound Tisdale Parkway off-ramp to westbound U.S. 412/U.S. 64/S.H. 51
• The two left lanes of northbound U.S. 75 approaching the SW corner of the IDL.
Additional road, lane and ramp closures in Tulsa include: (watch out for crews working, detours posted)
• 3rd St. (west leg IDL) will be one lane each direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday;
• Cincinnati is closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday;
• Cheyenne Ave. will be closed under I-244 (north leg IDL) until 5 p.m. Thursday.
Heavy Traffic Way (1st St.) will be closed until 5 p.m. today.
