OKLA. CITY —
The Oklahoma County Master Gardeners are presenting their 2nd Annual Harvest Festival from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the OSU Extension Gardens, 930 N. Portland, Oklahoma City. This event is free to the public.
Special guest for this fun-filled day is the International Garden Writer Felder Rushing, who will be speaking at 3 p.m. Rushing is the founder of Slow Gardening, an approach that focuses on finding and following personal garden bliss, using all senses through all seasons. It is a guide toward paying better attention to and savoring what you do, and encourages the cultivation of locally adapted plants grown sustainably and shared with others.
“Our Master Gardeners are reaching out to the public with many community service programs and the Harvest Festival is just one of them. Master Gardeners will be on hand during the festival to answer questions and to help the public learn more about gardening and choosing the right products to start their fall garden,” said Ray Ridlen, who is the Horticulture Educator for the Oklahoma County Extension and adviser to the Master Gardeners.
Come on out to take a tour of the OSU Extension gardens along with shopping for pumpkins and plants for the fall.
