EDMOND — The Pension and Retirement Board of the City of Edmond approved the retirement benefits this week of former Human Resources Director Anita Breen, said Casey Moore, public information officer.

“Anita’s monthly retirement benefit will be $1,331.07, beginning Sept. 1,” said Larry Stevens, city manager.

Breen applied for retirement in July after Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater filed criminal felony charges against her, alleging Breen unlawfully possessed two debit cards taken from a woman’s wallet inside an Edmond Target.

Police said Breen was caught on a surveillance camera taking a woman’s wallet on June 4 at a Target store in Edmond.

Breen was one of six city retirement applicants that were approved unanimously, Stevens said.
