EDMOND — A pleasure boat sank during a recent weekend at Arcadia Lake, an incident report stated.

During the afternoon on Aug. 18, Edmond Police Officer Todd Strader was dispatched to Arcadia Lake in reference to a boat that was sinking, according to the report filed by Strader.

Strader stated the reporting party told him he had some type of malfunction with his boat and it began taking on water. He couldn’t stop the water from coming in the boat and it sank.

Strader stated he could see the bow sticking straight up and the stern was resting on the bottom of the lake. He was able to tow the boat to the Central State Park boat ramp and beach it. The reporting party was able to get the water out and get the boat on a trailer.

The 1976 boat, valued at $2,000, was insured, Strader stated.
