EDMOND —
Bundles containing 22 pounds of marijuana were seized after an Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office deputy made a traffic stop on Highway 74 near Northwest 150th Street, the agency reports.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Mark Myers said the deputy was taking inventory of a suspect vehicle while impounding the car when he found a duffle bag in the trunk.
Inside the duffle bag the deputy located 19 bundles containing 22 pounds of marijuana, Myers said. Also recovered from inside the vehicle was a loaded Glock-35 pistol, and prescription medication, he said.
Myers said the driver of the vehicle, Carlecas Blackwell, 43, was found to be driving with a revoked license. Blackwell was taken into custody on complaints of possession of a weapon while committing a felony, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of drugs without a valid prescription, driving with a revoked license and failure to maintain insurance.
“There is no such thing as a routine traffic stop,” Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said. “This deputy did an incredible job and got a felon off the streets.”
Myers said Blackwell posted $13,500 bond and was released from the county jail on Sunday.

Broadway and residents may use the back door to enter the building. Parking is available behind the building at the Festival Market Place. Donations may be taken to Café Evoke, 103 S. Broadway, from 5-10 p.m. -
