Eagles tabbed No. 16 in preseason poll

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Christian men’s basketball team earned some preseason accolades on Monday as they were picked No. 16 in the NAIA Division I Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll.

The Eagles, who went 23-10 last season, head into their 50th season with a No. 16 ranking after receiving 151 votes in the poll. The Eagles made it to the first round of the NAIA tournament last year and finished third in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a 15-7 conference record.

The 2009-10 season looks bright for the Eagles with several returning starters, including returning NAIA All-American and SAC Player of the Year, Jason Taylor, who led the team 23.5 points and 8.36 rebounds per game.

The Lady Eagles and Eagles gear up for the first game of the season on Nov. 7 in a home doubleheader with Houston-Tillotson (Texas). The women will start at 1 p.m.. followed by the men at 3 p.m.
