Eagles lose finale to Stars

OKLA. CITY — The Oklahoma Christian baseball team yielded their series finale with No. 3 Oklahoma City University on Saturday losing 10-1 at Dobson Field.

The Stars’ TJ Jackson pitched a no hitter to the Eagles through the first four innings before allowing a single hit from Clint Bowker in the fifth. Troubled by Jackson, the Eagles tallied just one hit for the game with Bowker going 1-for-3.

OC’s Will Reinke pitched through three scoreless innings before the Stars captured two runs in the top of the fourth. OCU put up four more in the fifth and sent home three more runners in the sixth to take a 9-0 lead over the Eagles.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jordan Price reached base on a walk and three batters later was walked home on Bowker’s at bat to leave the Eagles trailing still 9-1.

After a scoreless seventh, OCU sent one final runner home in the eighth before closing out the game with the 10-1 victory.

The loss leaves the Eagles at 23-16 overall and a 15-12 record in the conference. OC will begin their final series of the regular season against Southern Nazarene University on Thursday with a single game beginning at 7 p.m. at Dobson Field.
