Corydon Eugene “Gene” Cochran, 88, of Edmond, Okla., was born June 3, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., to parents Corydon D. and Ruth M. Cochran. He passed away March 26, 2015, surrounded by family, in Guthrie, Okla.
Don McNeill, the Edmond, Oklahoma-based commodities broker with a lifelong love for breeding and racing horses, passed on Saturday.
McNeill grew up on his family farm in Thomas and immersed himself in the business of breeding racehorses at a young age. Once pari-mutuel wagering became legal in Oklahoma in the early 1980s, McNeill was immediately involved in supporting the state’s newest sport.
When Remington Park opened in 1988, McNeill Stables was primed for victory in its home state. Under the guidance of trainer, Donnie Von Hemel, McNeill runners won four races in the track’s first season. In the second season, the spring of 1989, one McNeill homebred would make history.
Joetta L. Rappé, 69, passed away Friday, March 20th, 2015 at her home in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born March 7th, 1946 in Del Norte, Colo., the daughter of Arthur Merle Smalley and Ila Lucille Arndt-Smalley.
Jack Smart was born on Sept. 14, 1930 to Ira and Zoe Smart in Manitou, Okla. In the early morning hours of March 12, 2015, Jack took his final earthly breath, with his wife by his side, and entered into the presence of his Savior.
Larry B. Case, 73, son of Frank and Ella Case, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home in Edmond, Okla. after a year-long battle with cancer. Larry was born November 27, 1941 in Cherokee, Okla.
John P. Bridwell, Jr., 82, , passed away peacefully March 17, 2015, at Epworth Villa Nursing home after a long illness. John was the oldest child born October 26, 1932, to John and Lorene Bridwell at Lindsay, Okla.
Dolores Louise McDaniel, 96, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born December 2, 1918 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Claudell and Mabel Marshal. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Orven Marshal, sister Vera Wise, daughter Darlene Wren grandson Troy McDaniel, great-grandson J.A. Wilson, and great-great-grandaughter Jacksyn Kate Hamilton.
Rose Mary Duffle, 96, passed away on March 14, 2015 in Ponca City, Okla. A Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, Okla. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. March 19, 2015 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater. Norma “June” Allen, 91, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2015, in the home of her daughter, with all of her children present. Norma June TeBockhorst, she was born in rural Washington County, Iowa, to Leo and Mary Shalla TeBockhorst. June attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and Kalona High School where she was drum majorette and valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she attended business school in Davenport, Iowa. When World War II broke out, she returned to Washington County, and worked at the Kalona, IA post office.

Joan Stubblefield, 74, passed away March 4, 2015 in Edmond, Okla. Joan was born in Wright City, Okla., on Sept. 16, 1940 to Wilburn Isaac Keen and Lillie Bell Keen (Hollingsworth). Joan married John Robert Stubblefield on December 21, 1958.
Armando Carro Sr., 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born July 19, 1934 to Manuel and Aurora (Garcia) Carro in Camaguey, Cuba. On December 9, 1958 he married Hady Regueiro Carbonell.
Robert (Bob) Hugh McWherter was called to his heavenly home on Feb. 20, 2015, at the age of 89. Bob was born on November 29, 1925, to Hugh Porter and Almyra (Vaughan) McWherter in Davis, Calif. In 1943, after graduating high school, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the South Pacific until 1946. In 1947 Bob married Gladys Goette of Woodland, Calif. They resided in Davis until 2001 when they moved to Edmond, Okla.
Known for his zest of life, determination and fortitude, Sid M. Groom, Jr. passed into Heaven February 22, 2015. He lived his life to the fullest and made this last journey with that same strength of spirit that characterized his entire life.
Long-time Edmond, Oklahoma, resident, Jerry Burnstein Sr., 81, died on February 17, 2015. Jerry Donald Burnstein Sr. was born in Jefferson City, MO, to Al and Bess (Strauss) Burnstein on July 24, 1933. He was raised in Claycomo, MO, until joining the Army in the 50s.
JoAnn Hail went to be with her Lord on February 18, 2015. Born July 29, 1931 in Blackwell, Okla., to Joe and Lorna Patton, JoAnn was one of four children (older brother and sister deceased) and her youngest brother, Loran Patton, resides in Tahlequah, Okla. today. She graduated high school in Billings, Okla. at age 17 and was salutatorian of her class.
Bonnie Evelyn Elsner was born July 30, 1933 in Okemah, Okla., to John and Maude Scrimshire. She went to her heavenly home Monday, February 16, 2015. Bonnie was the youngest of five children and played basketball and softball at Pharoah High School. It was in high school that she met the love of her life, Ken. They married in 1955 and moved to Shawnee where Ken was attending OBU. They had three children and made a home in Cromwell, Okla., where Ken was a coach and school administrator. She enjoyed those years being a homemaker and mother.
Beverly Wynn Whiddon of Edmond, Okla., passed away just two days after her 80th birthday. She was an active member of the Edmond Church of Christ for the past 40 years. She spent 23 years as a department secretary at Oklahoma Christian University.
Rex Tomlinson, a.k.a. “Mr. T”, a.k.a. “Wrecks”, a beloved husband, son, father and brother, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015. A life so well lived that no matter the “title” we gave him, he exceeded it. Rex has been an inspiration to so many and in countless ways.
Jerry Michael Wall, Sr. was a warm, charismatic man who loved his family and church. He was a longtime resident of Edmond and a former member of City Council, helping develop the master plan of Edmond, including the creation of Lake Arcadia and revitalizing the downtown area.

Clark was born in New Eagle, Pa., to Clifford Clark Dougherty Sr. and Sarah Jessie McChain Dougherty. Clark’s father was employed by HJ Heinz Company.
