Mildred Shiplet

1926-2009

Funeral services for Mildred Shiplet, 82, of Edmond are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Matthews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Shiplet was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Cooperton. She died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Edmond.

Shiplet graduated from Vinson High School. After living in California for three years, she and her husband returned to Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and served as a Nurses’ Aide, Unit Clerk and Monitor Technician at Baptist Hospital.

Shiplet was preceded in death by her husband, Doyal Shiplet; her parents and her brother, Ed Flinn.

Survivors include her daughter, Letha Blevins of Edmond; her son, Kent Shiplet of Edmond; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Stonegate Presbyterian Church, 17101 N. Western, Edmond, OK 73003.
