William Edward Wheat

1928-2009

Funeral services for William Edward Wheat, 81, of Edmond are scheduled to be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Edmond Church of Christ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.

Wheat was born May 12, 1928, in Cromwell. He died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 in Oklahoma City.

Wheat graduated from Seminole High School in 1946. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served two years at the end of World War II. Upon discharge he enrolled in East Central University and obtained a degree in accounting in 1952. In January 1957 he began his career as an Industrial Sales Representative for Snap-On Tools, and he retired in 1987 after 30 years of service.

Wheat was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie Lee and Homer Roy Wheat and his only sister, Lillian Reeves.

Survivors include his wife, Donnella Sue Wheat; one son, David Edward Wheat of Stratford; one daughter, Tamara Lynn Ribera of Edmond and two granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Search Ministries, Edmond.
