Patricia Ann Lawson Brandt

1929-2008

The Edmond Sun

EDMOND — Funeral services for Patricia Ann Lawson Brandt, 78, of Edmond are scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday at Dayspring Church of Christ in Edmond. Viewing will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Matthews Funeral Home.

Brandt was born June 24, 1929, in Oklahoma City. She died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Edmond.

She was the sixth generation of her family to live in Oklahoma, her Chickasaw ancestors having come here on The Trail of Tears. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and her master’s degree from then-Central State University. She taught math and science in many area high schools, including U.S. Grant, Northwest Classen and Del City. She also taught at Ball High School in Galveston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Newman Brandt Jr.; and her parents, Pat and Georgia Lawson.

Survivors include her sons, Patrick Brandt, Edward Brandt III and Rex Brandt.
