1921-2008
Graveside services for Hazel “Ione” Paslay, 87, formerly of Edmond, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton.
Paslay was born April 5, 1921, in Butler County, Kan. She died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, in Topeka.
Paslay grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Edmond High School before attending Central State College. She worked at the Edmond 1st National Bank, Tinker Air Force Base, Boeing Aircraft in Wichita and Pan American Petroleum Corporation in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Wichita, the Lecompton Historical Society, the Lecompton Goldenrods and the Eastern Star in Edmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Paslay; her parents, Edwin E. and Grace Gilliland Dedrick; and her brother, Kenneth Dedrick.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and three grandnephews and one grandniece.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Lecompton Historical Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
