1916-2009
A celebration of life is scheduled for Harold Allen Stump, 93, of Loveland, Colo., formerly of Edmond, from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center at Bradford Village, 300 Enz in Edmond. Friends and family are invited to come and share their memories, and a light lunch will be provided. Burial will be at the Carney Cemetery.
Stump was born June 20, 1916, in Carney. He died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, in Loveland, Colo.
He graduated from Carney High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Central State College. He was a school teacher, a roustabout and an airplane mechanic. He owned a Mobil service station and retired from civil service at Tinker AFB in 1974. He served in the Pacific during World War II and was retired from the U.S. Army Reserves. He volunteered at the Edmond Historical Museum and attended the First Christian Churches of Midwest City and Edmond.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Falba Antoinette “Tony” Vorel; and his parents, Herman Stump and Amy Kate Wilcox.
Survivors include his two daughters, Judy Murphy of Fair Play, S.C., and Sheri Bailey of Windsor, Colo.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Edmond Historical Society, 431 S. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73034 or to the benevolent fund at the Good Samaritan Village, 2101 S. Garfield Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
