Monty D. Taylor

EDMOND —     Monty (Montello Davone) Taylor, 42, of Guthrie, Okla., was born July 13, 1971, in Enid Okla., to Joyce Taylor Gulley and Kenneth Martin. He attended and graduated from Dover High School, Dover Okla., in 1989.

    Monty loved his wife, his kids, his family, his church family, and his Lord and Savior our Jesus Christ.

    Monty was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and a huge OU Sooners fan. Monty was quiet and shy to those who did not know him but fun and loving to those who knew him well.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Emma Taylor, and an uncle, Rev. Roy Khan.

    Monty is survived by his wife, Charlynne; children, Kenyon, Keslee, and Kalysa; his parents; one sister, Major Latrese Taylor of Washington D.C.; aunts and uncles, Beverly Khan of Oklahoma City, Okla., Lillian Griggs of Tulsa Okla., Doris and Charles Caine of Dallas, Texas, Kathy Davis of California and several other aunts and uncles; two cousins, Rashad Khan of Oklahoma City, Chevez and Gabriel Mason of Denton Texas, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

    Services celebrating Monty’s life will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery.
