Ruth Pauline Young Coley

EDMOND —     Ruth Pauline Young Coley, 90, was born in Ozark, Ark. on January 14, 1923 to Arthur Lee Young and Mary Lucinda Barham Young.  Pauline was the ninth child of thirteen brothers and sisters.

The family moved to Oklahoma when she was only three years old.  Oklahoma was her home.  She graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1940, and at the age of 17 she married the love of her life, Bruce Jerry Coley.  Bruce and Pauline had their one and only daughter, Brenda Joyce Coley Hamrick in 1942.  Bruce and Pauline were married for 52 years when Bruce went to be with the Lord in 1994.

Pauline instilled her love of the Lord and childlike faith to all those that she was around.  She knew that the love of others and the love of the Lord were the most important thing in this life.  She was a wonderful homemaker and a great blessing to everyone around her.  Pauline was the matriarch of her family, and her presence on this earth will be missed.  She is smiling in heaven now with Bruce, her family and her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Pauline was survived by one sister, Lillian Goff; daughter, Brenda Joyce Hamrick; grandchildren, Ted and Lawana Hamrick, Stephen Hamrick, Anna and Ed Williams; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Isabel, Emerson, Glen and Holly; great-great grandchildren, Lilley, Isabella and Jefferson, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends during visitation, from 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.

Services for her celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow.
