Bill H. Combs, 76, of Edmond, Okla., was born February 3, 1937 in Hominy, Okla., to Charles C. Combs and Jontie (Venus) Combs. He passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Bill grew up in Bartlesville, Okla. and graduated from College High School. He furthered his education at the Colorado School of Mines, where he played varsity football. He finished a chemical engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma.
His entire professional career was spent working for Phillips Petroleum Co. He held a variety of jobs, most of which dealt with the development, production and sales of plastics products. Many of those years were spent in Japan and Asia, where he was instrumental in the development of their many production facilities. During this time he developed lasting friendships that he continued until his death. Upon his retirement from Phillips Petroleum, he formed his own company, doing business as B. C. Polymer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mack H. Combs and Cecil Combs and three sisters, Helen Carnagey, Annie Lauri Burrell, and Jeanie Lenz.
He is survived by one brother, David M. Combs and wife Shirley of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; one sister, Lorraine Lay of Owasso, Okla., and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.
