Karen Elaine Council

EDMOND —     Karen Elaine Council, 53, of Edmond, Okla., died Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was born October 31, 1959, in Charleston, W.Va., to Linda Shelton Council and the late William Ralph Council, Jr.

    Karen was the office manager for Van Wieren & Jones, Inc. She created many exquisite counted cross stitch pieces for those she loved. Over the past 30 years, she donated 21 gallons of blood and/or platelets.

    She is survived by her brothers, William R. Council III of Brentwood, Tenn., and Wendell Russell Council and wife Jody of Colorado Springs, Colo., and her adopted and beloved niece, Ashley Miller of Edmond. Karen was proud of her nephews Reid, Wade and Walker Council and two well-loved cats, Opalee and Cleo. Karen also will be missed by JoLynn and Ben Miller, Jason Miller, her employers, five aunts, one uncle, 14 cousins and a host of friends in real time and throughout cyberspace.

    Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 5401 N Brookline, Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Free to Live, PO Box 5884, Edmond, OK 73083-5884 or to an animal charity of choice.
