Mildred Tasker Tallant

EDMOND —     Mildred Tasker Tallant, 95, of Edmond, Okla., passed away peacefully November 18, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born October 17, 1918 in Bixby, Okla., to Edwin L. and Lida (Anderson) Tasker.

    Mildred graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in business administration and later worked as an assistant for Dresser Industries in Oklahoma City. She met and married her beloved husband, William Barrett Tallant, on November 27, 1946 and they shared many wonderful years.

    Mildred greatly enjoyed her membership in several different organizations including Chapter ES, P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution, Cambridge Club, Ladies Music Club, Orchestra League and the Red Bud Women’s Club. In addition, she also volunteered regularly with the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Edmond and was an Edmond resident since 1946.

    Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister, Roberta Schulze; and brothers, George and James Dean Tasker.

    She is survived by the many friends she had made throughout her lifetime.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary or a charity of your choice.

    Graveside services for Mildred were 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

    Services were under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
