Gladys Eberline departed her earthly home for the Eternal Kingdom on December 13, 2013. She was born March 16, 1918 to Aaron and Esther Johnson on a farm west of Axtell, Kan., the fourth daughter of seven children born to Swedish immigrant parents who came to the United States in 1890.
On April 12, 1941 she married Howard Eberline. Gladys spent her life as a homemaker, secretary and real estate associate.
She moved to Edmond from Santa Fe with her family in 1968 and was a resident there until her death.
She spent many wonderful days with her Morgan horses. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, Chapter ES P.E.O, and the American Morgan Horse Association.
Gladys was fondly called “the Cookie Lady” as she delivered many delicious cookies over the years to those who need “cheering up”.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her son Bobby.
Gladys is survived by 11 nieces and nephews. A beloved friend to so many Gladys will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 19, at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond. Interment will follow services at Memorial Park Cemetery.
