Bobbie Claire Turney


EDMOND —     Bobbie Claire Stuart Campbell Turney, 84, died peacefully at home on January 4, 2014.  She was born September 17, 1929 in North Little Rock, Ark. to Paul Allen and Nellie Irene Powell Stuart.  She spent her childhood in New Orleans, La., Natchez, Miss. and graduated high school from Shades Cahaba in Birmingham, Ala.  She married Dr. David Austin Campbell in 1950 in Birmingham, then moved to Oklahoma City.  They were married for 22 years and had three daughters.  Her second marriage of 38 years was to Gale Collins Turney in 1973.

    She is survived by her sister Martha Nell Dodson of Port Isabell, Texas and her three daughters,  Nancy Ann Campbell, Linda Louise Campbell Lunsford and Julianne Campbell Snyder and her grandchildren Larry Lunsford, Christy Lunsford Roberson, Jennifer Snyder, Kellye Sharp Elwood and Cindy Sharp Whiteaker and her great grandchildren Tate Roberson, Kali Roberson, Jason Lunsford, Shelby Whiteaker, Micaela Whiteaker and scores of friends in the Rollin’ Oakies.  

    Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.  A reception will follow at Baggerley Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christmas Connection, 5728 S. May, Oklahoma City, OK 73119.
