EDMOND —
Robert Allen Martin, 64, of Edmond, Okla., died October 1, 2012. Robert was born in Durant, Okla., and his family moved to Texas a few months later. He had an older sister Sherrie, deceased, and has a younger brother, Steve, of New Orleans, La.
Robert graduated from Amarillo High and attended the University of Texas. He was an entrepreneur at heart and pursued several avenues of work including owning one of the largest crane operations in Texas, defense contracting, and most recently, owned Pinnacle Spine, which supplies the tools and hardware for spinal surgeries. There wasn’t anything that Robert couldn’t invent, fix or improve. He was generous with his time and money and enjoyed teaching others.
Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Sherrie, niece, and several close male cousins.
Many people mourn his death including his wife Jody, his children and their spouses, and his five grandchildren.
The family expresses their appreciation for the outpouring of love and prayers during this very difficult time.
A visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave, Oklahoma City.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 5, at the Crossings Church Chapel, 14600 N. Portland Ave, Oklahoma City.
