Kenneth N. Sprouse

EDMOND —     Kenneth Neal Sprouse, 68, of Edmond, Okla., was welcomed by his Savior Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, August 10, 2013. He was born June 30, 1945 in Walters, Okla. to Neal and Leona Sprouse. He married Bea Rathbun on May 28, 1966, at Corum Baptist Church in Corum, Okla. Upon completing a master’s degree in Guidance and Administration from Central State (UCO), Ken worked as a counselor at Star Spencer High School in Oklahoma City, then later opened 87 restaurants. Ken and Bea first received the call to ministry at Lone Star Baptist Church in Edmond, then to God’s Light Shining Church, also in Edmond, and finally to Edmond Christian Academy and Edmond Christian Center.

    Ken is survived by wife Bea; mother Leona Sprouse; sister Jan Christie Blomgren; several cousins; daughters Kendra Golden and husband Brannon, and Scotti Wilson and husband Damian, and grandchildren Kenneth, Alexa, Preston, Evangeline, Kezia, and Charis.

    Ken’s burial was at Walters Cemetery in Walters, Okla.  A service to celebrate Ken’s life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at the Oklahoma City campus of, NW 178th and Pennsylvania.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Edmond Christian Center (for India missions), 21477 N. Western Avenue, Edmond, OK 73012.
