EDMOND —
Leman Clarence Officer, 91, of Edmond, Okla. was born February 29, 1920 in Madison County, Ark. to C. Ethan and Gertha (Phillips) Officer. He passed away January 11, 2012 in Edmond.
Leman was a drywall contractor for many years and attended church at Christian Heritage Church. He enjoyed gardening, bee keeping, farming, hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed being a musician.
Leman met his wife during WWII while they were both in the Army. She was an Army nurse at Brooks General in San Antonio. They were married 67 years.
Leman is survived by his wife Katherine J. Officer; children Terry and Francie Officer, Gayle and Ron Heatherly, Daryle Officer, and Kent and Lana Officer; grandchildren Chad Heatherly, Josh Officer, Craig Heatherly, Keri Smith, Jacob Officer, Lucas Officer and Troy Officer; great-grandchildren Sierra Heatherly, Zade Smith, Harper Officer; step-grandchildren Brad Haworth, Nicole Whitley and Crystal Haworth; step great-grandchild Tristen Haworth; siblings Glenn and Maxine Officer, Opal and Aaron Tassey, Van and Norma Officer and Wanda Mae and Norman Gray.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.
