EDMOND —
Pamela Ann Heckenkamp, 64, surrounded with love by her family, left this earth to be with God on February 18, 2013, two days before her 32nd wedding anniversary with her soulmate, Ron Heckenkamp. Her courageous, elegant, loving presence and amazing love of life will be missed by the many friends and family she touched.
Pam was born February 2, 1949 into the loving family of Ray and Peggy Dervey of Denver, Colo. After graduating from the University of Colorado, she had a successful career in the retail industry as a buyer for many major department stores. Most recently, she was a realtor for Keller Williams Edmond. Pam’s life revolved around her love for family, her passion for golf, her involvement in many charitable organizations, and her genuine joy for entertaining . Throughout her life, Pam was fortunate to be surrounded and supported by many amazing women like those found in her many Bible Study groups, Edmond Newcomers Club, Edmond Republican Women’s Club, her Mexican Train Dominoes Group, and her women’s golf group at Oak Tree. It was the support of these women, her family and most of all, her husband Ron that gave her strength in a 20-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Her motto in life was “Never give up!”; and she never did.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ron Heckenkamp; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Beverly Heckenkamp; sister, Sherry Cunningham; brother- in-law, Dan Cunningham; son, Charles Heckenkamp; daughter, Jennie Mason, son-in-law, Shawn Mason, three beautiful grandchildren who adored her: Rachel Ammons, Parker Mason and Mallory Mason; and her beloved best friend, her Irish Setter, Roxy.
In lieu of flowers, Pam would have wanted any memorial donations to be given to The Susan G. Komen foundation. The website is ww5.komen.org. A remembrance to honor her life will be held at the family’s home from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013.
