EDMOND —
Ruth (Ann) Hightower Legako, 94, of Edmond, Okla., passed away December 28, 2012. She will be dearly missed by all and may she rest in peace.
Ruth Ann was born January 10, 1918 in Muskogee, Okla., to James and Jewel Hughes. She graduated from Central State College with a teacher’s degree and taught school in Wellston, Okla. She retired from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Ruth was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Edmond. She enjoyed family, swimming, quilting and Silver Sneakers.
She is survived by her sister, Maxine Nichols of Alva, Okla.; two sons, Richard Legako of Edmond, and James Legako and wife Debbie of Tuttle, Okla.; a daughter, Margo Raybourn and husband Jim of St. Louis, Mo.; four granddaughters, Desirea Braden and husband Mark of Marietta, Ohio, Andrea Yeager and husband Greg of Fort Collins, Colo.; Stephanie Fulton and husband Josh of El Reno, Okla., and Candi Raybourn of London, England; three grandsons, Dr. Andrew Legako and wife Annette of Emporia, Kan., Dr. James H. (Trey) Raybourn and wife Sarah of Nashville, Tenn., and Christopher Legako of Edmond; and great-grandchildren, Annalyse Braden, Austin and Cole Yeager, Brayden and Mason Fulton, Cooper and Grayson Legako and Anna Raybourn.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. January 2, 2013 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
