EDMOND —
Louis W. Van Ermen, 92, was born March 10, 1920 in Cicero, Ill. to Louis Van Ermen and Ruth (Stormer) Van Ermen. Louis passed away January 5, 2013. He was never married.
He graduated with a Masters degree in Music from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1949. After college he toured with a museumobile for the state of Illinois. Later he worked as a music instructor at elementary schools in Illinois and Florida. His last career was in the insurance industry working for American National Insurance in small claims as an assistant manager for 30 years in Galveston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother Robert Van Ermen.
Louis was survived by a sister Kathleen Schrader, a brother Bill and wife Marjie Van Ermen; nieces and nephews David and wife Cassie and their children Amanda, Robert and William, Steven Schrader and daughter Kristen; great niece Beth and husband Jason Houser and children Elliot, Louis, Audrey, and Greg Van Ermen and wife Amy; and close cousins Mary Carrington, her daughter Christina Riley and her husband Brian and their children Meagan and Morgan.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday January 12, 2012 at St. Ann’s Nursing Home, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Edmond, Okla.
