EDMOND —
Peter S. Polhemus, 82, of Edmond, Okla., passed away February 4, 2012. He was born October 24, 1929, in Tulsa, Okla., the only child of James and Priscilla Polhemus, who preceded him in death.
While working in Pittsburgh, Pa., Pete met his wife, Jean, and they lived there for two years before moving to Billings, Mont. for one year. They spent their remaining years in Oklahoma, dividing their time between Tulsa and Edmond. Pete and Jean would have been married 50 years this July.
Pete’s entire professional life was spent in the oil and gas industry, primarily as a Landman.
One of Pete’s favorite hobbies was building and flying model airplanes, and he also loved working outdoors in the yard.
Pete is survived by his wife, Jean Polhemus; two daughters, Laurie Polhemus of Oklahoma City, and Cheryl Zimmer of Edmond; two sons, Steve Polhemus, and David Polhemus and his wife, Jan, all of Edmond; four grandchildren, Allison Zimmer, Kenneth Polhemus, Michael Polhemus and his wife Kim, all of Edmond, and Ryan Zimmer and his wife Dusti of Great Falls, Mont.; two great-grandchildren, Parker Zimmer of Great Falls, and Elizabeth Polhemus of Edmond.
Open visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Matthews Funeral Home; and graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
