Cleola Mullins Beardsley

EDMOND —     Cleola Mullins Beardsley, 92, went to her heavenly reward November 5, 2013, after a long and productive life. Born on June 16, 1921 in Rocky, Okla., to Claude and Ethel Mullins and raised on a farm in Burns Flat, Okla., she was the surviving member of a family of five children.

    She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southwestern State College in Weatherford and used it to educate many students in Burns Flat and Western Oaks Elementary School in Putnam City ISD.

    She married John Beardsley on July 5, 1943.  From that union they had three children. Linda Hall (Jim), Rolly Beardsley, and Jeff Beardsley (Karrie).

    She is survived by her children, grandchildren,  sister-in- law, Wanda Mullins, brother-in-law, George Beardsley and many nieces and nephews.  Her six grandchildren were the light of her life and then she was blessed to hold and love three great grandchildren.  She resided in Edmond, Okla., at the time of her death having previously lived in Oklahoma City, Burns Flat, and Dallas, Texas.

    She was a life long member of the Church of Christ where she shared her gift of teaching to many young children.

    She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, one sister, Irma, three brothers, Glenn, Dale, and Jack Mullins.

    The family will greet friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at Matthews Funeral Home.

    Services will be 10  a.m. Monday, November 11, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Edmond, Okla.
