EDMOND —
Funeral Mass for Loraine F. Emery, 84, of Lawton, Okla., formerly of Edmond, Okla., was noon Friday, July 6, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton, with Rev. Philip Seeton, pastor officiating.
Burial was in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Mrs. Emery died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Lawton .
She was born September 11, 1927 in McAlester, Okla. to John and Alba (Tempia) Figus. She married Jean Emery on July 5, 1947 in Atlanta, Ga., and spent 65 beautiful years together. As a military wife, she made a house a home for her family in many locations across the globe. Family, cooking and shopping were the delights of her life. She and Jean played bridge and mahjong with many friends over the years.
She is survived by her husband, LTC (Retired) Jean Emery of the home, son and daughter-in-law, David Stephen and Janet Emery, Hunts-ville, Ala., two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Y. and Garth Splinter, Oklahoma City and Toni and Bobby Ryans, Lawton, five grandchildren and their spouses, and eight great-grandchilden, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary, Josephine, Modesta and Anne, and four brothers, Manuel, John, Jr., Victor and Arthur.
