Dick was the 1939 World Champion Steer Roper. They also traveled some with Dick’s sister from Stonewall, Nell Shaw, and her husband, Everett Shaw, who was a six time World Champion Steer Roper between 1945 and 1962.
After his rodeo days, Floyd worked in construction laying pipeline in California before settling down in Ada, He co-founded the Ada Floral Shop with his first wife, Jean.
He later married and spent 62 years with the love of his life, Norma, in Stonewall, where he raised Brahmas and feeder cattle before he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Keith Underhill and Georgia Chambers Underhill, his sister Juanita Truitt, his brother, Hagen Cole Underhill, his wife Norma Underhill, and his step-son, Roy Don Holland.
