EDMOND —
Karen Diann Perkins DuShane, 53, of Piedmont, Okla., passed away November 11, 2012 in Edmond, Okla. She was born August 6, 1959 in Fort Sill, Okla., to Arland V. and Frances L. Perkins.
Karen grew up in Lawton, Okla., graduated from Elgin High School in 1978, attended and graduated from Great Plains Area Vocational Technical School (Lawton) in 1980 and then moved to Edmond. Throughout her life, Karen worked as an LPN and enjoyed cooking, crafts, sewing, scrapbooking, poetry and drawing.
She is survived by her parents, Arland and Frances Perkins of Edmond; her husband, John W. DuShane, Jr. of the home; children, Ryan V. Splawn of Oklahoma City, Okla., Evan D. Splawn of Edmond and Lacey J. DuShane of Piedmont; siblings, Douglas (Barbara) Perkins of Edmond, Denise (Paul) Hannon of Edmond, Felicia (Mark) Koym of Edmond; two grandchildren, John D. “JD” and Haylee B. Splawn, and many other loving family and friends.
The family offers a special thanks to the Hospice of Oklahoma County.
A rosary and family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond.
Services for Karen will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 14 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond.
