EDMOND —
Media Marjorie Shipman-Smola, 73, died Friday, June 29, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Marjorie was born September 5, 1937 in Pando, Colo., the oldest of Buford and Alice Nicks’ five children. Marge was full of life. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she would go to great lengths to see you smile. She would simply glow when her family was around. Regardless of the circumstances, she was always the first to build you up with encouragement. She was the type of lady that put everything she had into what she was doing. She was always available when you needed her and was most proud of her family.
Marge served in the U.S. Navy and was the first woman in the Naval Radioactive Isotope Program.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her husband Steve Smola; her sons Steven Rotelli of Bethany, Okla. and Dan Rotelli of Edmond, and daughter Michelle Worrell of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Mandi and husband Chris Bartram of Oklahoma City, Jenna Dickenson of Atlanta, Ga.; Tiffany and husband Caleb Perkins of Elk City, Okla., Heather Rotelli of Tulsa, Okla.; Jacob Rotelli of Stillwater, Okla.; JT Rotelli of Edmond; Steven Rotelli of Oklahoma City, Christopher and Nicholas Rotelli of Bethany, Andrew VanDette of Buford, Ga. and Taylor VanDette of Buford, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Jaiden Wright, Olivia Perkins, Jackson and Addison Bartram.
Services to celebrate Marge’s life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, 610 Northwest 178th Street, Edmond, OK.
