Officer Chad Gregory Peery died April 15, 2013. He was born December 6, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Okla., and graduated from Mount St. Mary High School, Oklahoma City and Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Okla.
Chad started his career as a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Stigler, Okla. During this time, Chad began working as a Haskell County Volunteer Reserve Officer in his spare time. Later, Chad became the Chief Finance Officer for the State Health Clinic in Stigler and continued with his volunteer work.
Chad followed his true calling to serve the community when he graduated from the Oklahoma City Police Academy in 2008. He performed at a very high level until he was injured in the line of duty in 2011. The events of his life since the incident have been well documented and admired by all who followed his accomplishments. Even in death Chad continued to help others by being an organ donor. Chad was an extraordinary father, son, brother, officer, and friend as well as an inspiration to all who knew him.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Josephine Peery and Scotty Fonza.
He is survived by the driving force of his life: his four children, daughter McKinsey, sons Mason, McKade, and Morgan; his grandfather, Bernie Fonza; parents Greg and Jan Peery; brother Mark Peery and wife Michelle; sisters Jill Peery and Samantha Grega and husband John; brother George Darrow and wife Julie, and a multitude of loving family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m Saturday April 20, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edmond, Okla. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
