EDMOND —
Del Wright, 85, of Edmond, Okla., passed away Sunday January 15, 2012. Del was born in Duncan, Okla., August 20, 1926, to James F. and Ann Wright.
Del moved to Edmond in 1974, completing his 37 year career with the Veterans Administration Hospital, OKC, as Chief of Medical Administration in 1983. Del loved the outdoors and camping, hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished handyman and carpenter.
Del is survived by his wife of 60 years Margaret, and three sons and wives, Stephen and Denise Wright of Edmond, Gary and Susan Wright of Lonetree, Colo., and Kevin and Nancy Wright of Luther, Okla. He also is survived by four loving grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Hannah, and Patrick.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Jackson and Hurd, Edmond with burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3555 NW 58th Street, #200, Oklahoma City, OK 73112 or the First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Hurd Street, Edmond, OK 73034, in memory of Del R. Wright.
Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
