EDMOND —
Surrounded by family, God took Patti home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 27, 2012. Patti was born June 13, 1925 in Tulsa, Okla., to Harold and Elizabeth (Wilson) Duck. She graduated in 1942 from Central High School in Tulsa.
Patti married Towne Elliott in 1948, and their family moved to Oklahoma City in 1959. In 1963 she was tragically widowed, leaving Patti to raise three young children on her own. She successfully completed a secretarial course at Draughn’s Business School in Oklahoma City and worked at Frigidaire and Modern Home Appliance.
Patti worked as a secretary in the chaplain’s office at Presbyterian Hospital for 15 years. In 1980 she married Ralph Stiles. Together they worshiped and served their LDS church, and were missionaries in Pennsylvania in 1991 shortly after they retired.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Gerald as well as both husbands.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn (Kenney) Scarritt of Wichita, Kan.; her three children: Ann (Billy) Hebblethwaite of Edmond and their children Lauri (Mike) Stucki, and Jana (Jeff) Janzen; Nancy Addington of Conroe, Texas, and her daughter Julie (Steve) Hockert; and Mike (Renee) Elliott of Edmond and their children Paige (Andrew) Odell, and Spencer Elliott; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lindsay Hukill, Mikayla, Allisyn, and Jacob Stucki, Kate and Megan Janzen, Lauren, Jessica, and Kathryn Hockert, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and dear friends.
The family thanks the staff at Grace Living Center of Edmond, Mercy ICU, Integris Baptist Medical Center, and Quail Ridge Assisted Living Center for the loving care provided to Patti, and also thanks Rickie Conrady, MD and Eric Dedke MD for their compassion and attention during the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Church in Edmond. Burial and graveside service will be 3 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond. Full obituary may be viewed and condolences posted at www.matthewsfuneralhome.com.
