Doris Lee Sandberg

The Edmond Sun

EDMOND — Born December 19, 1926 in Phoenix, Ariz., Doris was lovingly adopted by Opal and Nat Starnes. She loved her youth and high school days in Phoenix, but moved to Texas after marrying Jimmie Terrell in 1946. Their union was blessed by two boys, William (Bill), and Randy. She was a loving, dutiful mother and homemaker as they grew up. She spent most of her life in Texas and considered herself a native Texan.

She worked for many years in the insurance industry and eventually became an executive secretary for Transco Energy Company in Houston until her retirement in 1986. She had already married Larry Sandberg and was enjoying life and travel until passing in 2004.

Doris liked cold beer, sunny days, a good joke, and the Texas wildflowers. Her smile could light up a room and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by son Bill and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, Colo., and son Randy and wife Joan of Edmond, Okla.

The family will have a private memorial celebration of her life.
