EDMOND —
Madison Barnett Martin, 86, went to be at peace with his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2012. He was born to Forrest and Marie Martin on December 16, 1925 in Hitchcock, Okla.
Madison served seven years in the United States Navy where he ran a ship store. Madison and his bride, Mary, wed October 31, 1952 and have been faith members of the Memorial Road Church of Christ for the past 22 years. Madison never missed a chance to hand out a powerful handshake and often saved his biggest and brightest smile and laughs for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Madison is preceded in death by his mother, father, and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Christie; son Matt and wife Rhonda; four grandchildren, Charity, Amber, Rachel and Mitchell; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Brynn and Miles; his brother Richard, his sister Norma Jean, and countless other family members and friends.
The family thanks the many friends, family and medical professionals who offered their loving support and prayers over the last few years.
The viewing was 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. June 23 and 24 at Matthews Funeral Home.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
