Bradley Clayton West

EDMOND —     Brad Clayton West, 23, born March 27, 1990, in Oklahoma City, Okla., died suddenly Feb. 18, 2014, in Oklahoma City. Brad grew up and went to school in Edmond and graduated from Edmond North High School in 2008. He attended OSU-OKC and was working as an electrician apprentice at Integrated Electric in Edmond at the time of his death.

Brad accepted Jesus as a child and never faltered on his Christian walk; he deeply loved the Lord and celebrated doing God’s work. Brad was active at Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church, playing bass and singing with the worship team. He also loved a good game of hoops and played often there. Brad met his wife Becca at their church and never looked back. They were married May 18, 2012. Becca was the perfect girl for Brad … fun loving, easygoing and sharing his love for Jesus.

Brad lived life to the fullest; every day was a happy day. Whether it was gaming with his brothers, grabbing a bite at Taco Bell, or reading Louis L’Amour, there was a smile on his face and in his heart. He loved all animals and was a nature boy at his core. As a toddler, he would garden with his grandpa, many times eating the tomatoes as fast as Grandpa could pick them. And the Crocodile Hunter was his hero.

Brad is survived by his wife Becca; parents Jerry and Kay West; father- and mother-in-law Jeff and Kim Dean; brother Brian West and his wife Yukino; brother Brent West; brother-in-law Nick Dean; nieces Camden, Finley and Tipton West; grandmother Gladys West; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him so very much, and his beloved four-legged buddy Ringo.

We will miss Brad’s sweet, uncomplicated spirit and zest for life. He was an extraordinary young man of miracles from beginning to end, and while we greatly mourn his loss here, we know heaven is rejoicing.

A celebration of Brad’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 2720 NW 178, Edmond, OK 73012.
