EDMOND —     Carlotta Carol Cobb Guthrie, 70, of Edmond, Okla., passed away June 19, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Okla.  She was born July 19, 1942 in Hickory, N.C. to Clyde and Elizabeth Cobb.  On August 21, 1960 she married Larry Joe Guthrie in Hickory.

    Carlotta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a tender and gentle spirit at all times, especially when she was battling cancer.  She loved to cook and garden, and was happiest while serving others.  She traveled to 50 states and enjoyed her second home on Lake Norman, N. C.  She spent her career working in healthcare administration and retired in 1995 as administrator of Midwest Dialysis.

    After retirement, she volunteered for Hospice of Oklahoma County and volunteered in the administrative offices of her church, Peace Lutheran, where she was a 20 year member.

    She was preceded in death by her parents.

    Survivors include her husband Larry of 52 years; her son Larry Joe Guthrie Jr. (Caroline), of Edmond;  her daughter Kim Montgomery (Vincent) of Norman, Okla.; five grandchildren; Kaylin and Kristen Hendrix (Kim) of Norman,  Justin and Carson Montgomery of Norman, Alexis Miers (Matt), Winfield, Kan., and her brother Leon Cobb (Charlotte) of Jasper, Ga.

    A special thanks to Dr. Joan Walker and staff, OU Medical Center Oncology, and Integris Hospice House for her outstanding care during her final days.

    A celebration of Carlotta’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, Edmond.

    Memorial contributions may be made on her behalf to Hospice of Oklahoma County.
