EDMOND —
On November 20, 2012, God called home his sweetest angel on earth, Patricia Jane Funnell Wilmoth, 81, of Edmond, Okla. She was born February 18, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Opal F. Brown Funnell and George W. Funnell.
Patricia attended school in Guthrie, Norman, and Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She married the love of her life, Maurice C. Wilmoth on September 2, 1949 and became a special part of his large family. Being an only child, she loved all the brothers and sisters she gained when she joined the Wilmoth family.
Pat and ‘Mo’ had three children, Reese, Lynda, and Terry and, in 1959, they moved from the city to the country to raise their family. She learned about raising chickens, horses, and pigs and had many funny stories about the escapades of the country.
Pat worked as an administrative assistant for several companies and retired from the company she and Maurice owned together, Rain-Flow of Oklahoma City. She was a home room mom and a Bellmon ‘Belle’ but, most of all, a loving and giving mother, grandmother and friend.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years.
She is survived by a son, Maurice C. (Reese) Wilmoth, Jr. and wife Judy, daughter Lynda G. French, and daughter Terry L. Addis and husband Bill, grandsons Gabe French and Jeffrey Papa, granddaughters Christie Taylor, Jenny Harth (Dustin), P.J. Romberg (Shawn), Megan French, and Casey Devine (Joseph), and five great-grandchildren, Reese Taylor, Cooper Romberg, Samuel and Isabel Harth, and Jackson and Myles Devine. She is also survived by Katie, Jerrod, and Annabelle Howard and Peggy, Halle, Emma, and Jenna Norton.
The family thanks private caregiver Massa Foday, the loving staff of Elm Court at Touchmark-Edmond, Pamela Chadwell, P.A., and the wonderful caregivers at Centennial Hospice.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
